John Brower  - Bass Guitar/Vocals

 Hailing from Minneapolis, John’s earliest influences were from the folk music genre of the 60’s.  He picked up a guitar at age 14 and was soon performing in a folk trio, The Milestones.  As folk music evolved to folk-rock, so did John’s musical taste, playing rhythm guitar and handling backing vocal chores with Mandala, a popular cover band that played throughout the Upper Midwest.

 A relative “newbie” to the bass, John holds down the low end in the Blue State line-up, but from time to time will slap on the old six-string for some of the groups more guitar-oriented selections.  His lyric baritone voice can be heard on many of the band’s ballads and the occasional Elvis impersonation.
