David has played piano since age 5 and guitar since age 11. He joined his first band, The Other Half, at age 13. They played Jr. High functions in central AR. In high school he played in several local rock bands including: The Regiment of Sound and Ice Cream.

In the mid-70's he helped form a local country rock/bluegrass band, The Gopher Boys. The "Boys" played all over central & Northwest Arkansas.

Returning to Rock in 2002 he helped form "Deep Cover", which has mutated to Blue State.  When not playing rock music, he is a full time faculty physician with the UAMS Department of Family & Community Medicine and an Assistant Medical Director for clinical informatics projects at UAMS .
